Overview

This full-day tour offers a relaxed journey through central Bosnia, where history, culture, and nature come together in a very authentic way. Travnik and Jajce are among the most historically significant towns from the medieval Bosnian Kingdom, each with its own unique story and atmosphere. During the Ottoman period, Travnik served as the residence of the Bosnian vizier for nearly 150 years, making it an important administrative and cultural center. The town is famous for the Travnik Fortress, which rises above the town and offers stunning panoramic views of the surroundings, as well as for its historic Šarena džamija - Colorful mosque. Jajce, on the other hand, is one of the most unique towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was the last royal capital of the Bosnian Kingdom and is famous for its stunning natural setting, where a powerful waterfall lies right in the center of the town. This rare combination of history and nature makes Jajce truly special. The surrounding area is rich with historical landmarks, as well as natural sites like the Pliva Lakes and traditional wooden watermills, which reflect the region’s rural past. During the tour, you will visit the old town area—either in Travnik or Jajce—followed by a stop at a viewpoint overlooking the famous Jajce waterfall, with time to enjoy the scenery and take photos. The journey continues to the wooden watermills between the Great and Small Pliva Lakes, before heading to Pliva Lake itself, where a relaxing break is planned. Here, you can enjoy coffee or refreshments by the water, and there is also an option to rent small electric boats and explore the lake. On the way back, we stop in Travnik for a traditional lunch, where you will have the chance to try authentic Travnik ćevapi. After some time to relax and enjoy the local food, the tour continues back to Sarajevo.
