Overview

Stories of Resilience is a 3.5-hour historical tour focused on the broader context of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Siege of Sarajevo. The tour provides insight into the political background of the conflict and the impact the war had on the city and its people. A key stop is the Tunnel of Hope, the underground passage that connected the besieged city with the outside world. It was one of the most important lifelines during the siege, enabling movement, communication, and strategic coordination. The tour continues with a drive to Mount Trebević, which served as one of the main strategic positions overlooking the city during the war. From there, we take a short 10-minute walk to the historic Trebević Bobsleigh Track, originally built for the 1984 Winter Olympics and later used as a fortified position during the conflict. This tour combines comfortable driving with guided walking sections, offering a deeper understanding of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the resilience of Sarajevo.

Driving & Walking Tour
Overview

The tour begins with hotel pick-up, where guests are gathered and introduced to the day’s journey through the heart of Sarajevo—a city. We drive along the main street, passing by Markale Market, a site tragically remembered for two massacres during the Bosnian War, which became a turning point that eventually led NATO to intervene. Our route continues along Tito Street towards Sniper Alley, witnessing areas once exposed to relentless sniper fire. Along the way, we also pass through the modern parts of Sarajevo, highlighting the city’s recovery and vibrant present. The first stop is at the Tunnel of Hope, a vital lifeline during the siege. Guests spend approximately one hour here, exploring the tunnel and learning about its critical role in sustaining Sarajevo’s people during the conflict. Afterwards, we drive to the Olympic Mountain Trebević, where guests visit the bobsleigh track. Here, guests can enter the track, take photos, and enjoy a short 10-minute walk, breathing in the fresh mountain air and taking in the breathtaking scenery of the surrounding nature. The tour concludes with a drive back to the hotel.
